Consistent workers, familiar routines, and time taken to listen.
Unity Aid is committed to providing reliable, dignified and person-centred support to veterans, war widows and their families.
Every veteran’s situation is different, and so is the support that fits it.
Please contact our team to discuss available veteran support services, eligibility and current service arrangements.

Unity Aid works with veterans and war widows, with the families and carers who arrange support around them, and with the GPs, hospitals, allied health professionals and discharge planners who send referrals.

Unity Aid provides four areas of support for veterans, war widows and their families. What suits one household rarely suits the next, so each one is arranged around the person receiving it.
Personal care, assistance with daily routines, mobility support, meal assistance, and continence assistance.
Cleaning, laundry, bed linen changes, shopping assistance, and basic household tasks.
Companionship, community outings, appointments, shopping, and social connection.
In-home respite, support for family carers, and scheduled short-term assistance.
Our team is here to listen, answer your questions and explain what may be available for your situation. A phone call is often the quickest way to start.
What Unity Aid brings to it, beyond the service itself. These eight points shape how a worker turns up and how the support is run.

/001
Respect for the client’s history and service.
/002
Dignity and independence.
/003
Reliable and consistent workers.
/004
Clear communication with families and health professionals.
/005
Support based on individual preferences.
/006
Recognition of trauma, mental health and social isolation.
/007
Culturally responsive care.
/008
Timely reporting of changes or concerns.
A referral can come from any of these, including from you. Most reach us from a health professional or a discharge planner, but a family member is just as welcome.

Three short steps. The first step alone is enough for us to call you back.
In-home personal support, domestic assistance, social support and respite support. Each one is described further up this page.
