Your Rights

What You Can Expect From Us

Your rights, your responsibilities, and what each one looks like in practice.

Written in plain words, because a right you cannot read is not much use. If anything here is unclear, ask and someone will go through it with you.

Your Rights

Eight Things You Can Expect

These hold whichever support you receive, and they hold from the first conversation onwards.

/001

Choice

You have the right to choose the support you receive, and to change your mind about it.

/002

Dignity

You have the right to be treated with respect, whatever the support is.

/003

Privacy

You have the right to have your information kept private and used only to arrange your support.

/004

Safety

You have the right to be safe, and to say so when something does not feel right.

/005

Plain words

You have the right to information you can actually understand, in a form that suits you.

/006

A worker who suits you

You have the right to a say in who supports you, and to ask for someone else.

/007

Independence

You have the right to do things your own way, including the things that take you longer.

/008

Speaking up

You have the right to raise a concern without it affecting the support you receive.

Your Part

Your Responsibilities

Four, and none of them is a warning. They are the things that make the support work at your end.

/001

Respect

Treat the people who support you the way you would want to be treated.

/002

Notice

Give reasonable notice when a visit needs to move or be cancelled.

/003

Changes

Tell us when something changes, so the support can change with it.

/004

Safety at home

Let us know about anything at home a worker should be aware of.

In Practice

Where Each of These Actually Happens

A right that lives only on this page is a statement. These are the pages where each one is carried out, and what to do if it is not.

Raising Something

If Something Is Not Right

Say so. It can be to your worker, to the office, or in writing without your name on it. None of them changes the support you receive.
