Recent NDIS Changes: New Rules and Regulations (2024–2026)

In recent years, NDIS rules and regulations have been updated to make the system fairer, clearer, and more sustainable. Some changes started from October 3, 2024, and new frameworks are being introduced.

Mind Activities

    • Clarifies what services and goods are covered
  2. Budget management rules
    • From March 4, 2025, NDIA can determine the most suitable budget management type for participants to reduce risk
  3. Plan reassessment rules
    • Participants can request plan variations or reassessment when circumstances change, with clear processes
  4. New Planning Framework (mid-2026)
    • Simplified and more flexible planning system
    • Designed to be participant-friendly
  5. Extended time for submitting information
    • Participants now have 90 days to provide documentation for reassessment requests
  6. Celebrate small wins
